We want to fondue on Valentines day, I have salmon in the freezer?

has anyone dipped salmon chunks in a fondue pot with oil? Otherwise I'll go and get other kinds of meat.We want to fondue on Valentines day, I have salmon in the freezer?
I think Salmon will fall apart, sorry. It is not a firm enough meat. You can always use it as a salmon spread for an appetizer.
Almost. Instead of oil, dip thin slices of salmon or of meat into hot stock and call it shabu shabu. It's the Japanese version of fondue. We want to fondue on Valentines day, I have salmon in the freezer?
ewwwww
Sounds kind of dry to me....
salmon would probably not be a good choice since it is very fatty already and would probably fall apart on you...stick with lean cuts of meat, stay away from pork and chicken...shrimp would even be good, some people roll cheese cubes in a little milk and flour and make fried cheese...mmmmm...fried cheese.....
2 pounds fresh or frozen salmon, 1 inch thick

Rince %26amp; Drain fish steaks; pat dry. Cut fish into 1 inch pieces. Prepare sauces (below). Cover fish and sauces; refrigerate. About 15 minutes before serving, drain fish again; pat dry to prevent spattering.

In metal fondue pot, heat salad oil (2 inches) to 375 degrees; transfer pot to source of heat at table. Adjust heat when necessary to maintain temperature of oil.

Spear cubes of fish with fondue forks and place in hot oil. Cook fish until light brown. Dip into sauces. 4 servings.

Dill Sauce: Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, dill weed and seasoned salt. 3/4 cup.

Tartar Sauce: Mix mayonnaise, dill pickle, parsley, pimiento and onion. 1/2 cup.

Lemon Butter Sauce: Heat butter or margarine, lemon peel and lemon juice until butter melts. Serve at room temperature. About 3/4 cup.

Have fun!!
Well, anything is really dip-able in a fondue, I guess, but salmon may fall apart, being fish. Get another type of meat, and maybe some bread as well, because that is one of the main things you dip in fondue.
Hmm. I've never tried it. I don't see why you couldn't try it, but if you don't like it, maybe have some beef on hand.

Just make sure you have the right oil temperature if you're concerned about eating raw or rare fish.
