Can I actually cook things in my fondue pot?

I bought a fondue pot at Target, and I've never used one before. It's stainless steel, and it uses canned chafing fuel. I'm wondering- will it be hot enough to actually cook small pieces of meat? Or is it just for dipping? Can I actually cook things in my fondue pot?
Absolutely! One of my daughters' favorite meals, when they were little, was Fondue. I put cooking oil in several pots, with cut-up beef, chicken and shrimp. Also plates of cut-up veggies and little bowls of tempura batter. We'd dip and cook and they thought it was wonderful!
You could cook pieces of meat, yeah. But be careful of poultry, you can get food poisoning if it's not cooked enough. It's safe to eat red meat virtually raw, though (although it's not to everyone's taste!).

If you heat enough oil to fill the pot until it boils, then you can pour it into the pot, then you can cook small bits of meat, but I wouldn't suggest you cook poultry.
maybe th is will help you out huni...
