What's the difference between using a ceramic fondue pot and a stainless steel one?

I wanted to melt cheese. not chocolate. so I was wondering if I would damage it, or it would just not work. What's the difference between using a ceramic fondue pot and a stainless steel one?
There are different types of fondue pots and fondue burners that are used for different types of fondue.

A chocolate fondue pot can only be used for chocolate, caramel or other dessert fondue recipes that are kept warm by a tealight.

For cheese or meat fondue (oil or broth), you need a pot that can stand higher temperatures. These pots also come with a burner that uses alcohol or gel fuel, not candles.

If you want to melt cheese, you can't use a ceramic pot as the heat from a cheese fondue burner will make it crack. If you try to make cheese fondue in a chocolate pot with a tealight, the cheese will solidify very quickly because the heat isn't high enough. What's the difference between using a ceramic fondue pot and a stainless steel one?
the only difference is in the $$$ spent on the Stainless pot!

they will do exactly the same thing.
