Hi Little confused, Once you have made your fondue mix you can hold it in a double boiler. One pot inside another with water in the bottom pot don't let the water touch the bottom of the upper pot let the steam keep it warm. you will have to check that it does not run dry. Yes. anything that you can cook in. A fondue pot is something decorative with a small flame beneath like a sterno or a candle. You can use a coffeepot with a candle if you HAVE to. I've cooked spahetti and/ or ramen noodles in a coffee pot. I lived in a barracks....You can do anything you need to survive....How do you make/do fondue without a fondue pot?
Use a very heavy saucepan , like Le Cruset or another enameled cast iron pot over a
Sterno flame. Watch it carefully - a lighter weight pan may scorch your fondue. And don't let it fall over! (That happened to me as a child and I've never eaten fondue again.)
