Is it ok to put caramel into a fondue pot?

How else do you propose to melt it for caramel apples. it will stick to anything you put it in.

BTW, any sugary thing stuck to a pot will come off relatively easily with hot soapy water.
Instead of pouring caramel sauce and heating it up, make an easy caramel fondue recipe that is meant to be heated up and have things dipped into it like this one:

Also, you should also use a bain-marie or a double-boiler if you're not using a fondue pot designed for dessert fondue. That prevents the heat from directly touching your pot (as there is water in between) and it provides even heat and your caramel is less likely to burn.Is it ok to put caramel into a fondue pot?
It might get too hot and harden too much. It should be cooked to a certain temperature.
It would be ok.
Just put hot water and soap in it right after you are done and let it soak for a bit... it should be fine.
