What Kind Of Chocolate Do You Put In A Fondue Pot?

Do you just melt chocolate chips or is their like, special chocolate you use? HELP!What Kind Of Chocolate Do You Put In A Fondue Pot?
usually you put a big chunk in the pot and it melts over the "fire". any type works but for chocolate chips, it will look like its not melted, but you just have to stir it around.

I make chocolate fondue all the time and I use everything

make sure you definitely do not use the microwave! it can burn the chocolate
I like semi-sweet. Milk can scorch too easily, and bittersweet is just too bitter to balance the sweet fruit. Semi-sweet is perfect, IMO.

** Chocolate Fondue **

It's important to maintain moderately low heat (no more than 120掳F) under your fondue pot so the chocolate stays melted and just warm to the touch. Too much heat can ruin the chocolate.

1/2 cup heavy cream

8 oz. semisweet chocolate, chips or finely chopped bar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 pound cake, cut into 1-inch cubes

2 pints strawberries, rinsed and hulled

Fill the fondue pot with 2 cups warm water and place the pot on the stand. Fill the fuel burner with oil according to the manufacturer's instructions and set it on the stand.

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the cream until steam begins to rise, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the chocolate, and stir until melted, smooth and creamy. Add the vanilla and stir until blended. Pour the chocolate sauce into the porcelain insert and place the insert in the fondue pot. Set the splatter guard on the top.

Set the fondue pot on the table and light the fuel burner, following the manufacturers instructions. Serve with pound cake, strawberries and individually marked fondue forks for dipping. Serves 6.

Milk chocolate. (Unless you like the other kinds.)

You can use the chips or chocolate bars.

Actually at places like walmart they sell little containers you put in the microwave for a few minutes and voila! Melted chocolate. You can dip whatever you want in there. It's cleaner and cheaper too.
i would use confectionary chocolate. ive heard that it melts smoother than regular chocolate. it comes in all different kinds, such as dark, milk, and white chocolate
The kind you get in the bakers section of the supermarket ( chocolate chips or chocolate shaped buttons) add a little oil to it when melting.
I would buy the melting, fountain chocolate at Wal-Mart in the wedding section.
well u get chocolate chips a vegtable oil in a bowl than melt it in the microwave. last put it the fountain!!
melt any chocolate u like- that melts
i would suggest nnot using chips but you could use chocolate candy making things or just melt chocolate bars
any really but white chocolate and milk chocolate are my fave
