How do you use a fondue pot and what chocolate is best and were can i get chocolate.?

the fondue pot already has the lighting gel thingy on the bottom so were do i go from there? How do you use a fondue pot and what chocolate is best and were can i get chocolate.?
for my fondue pot i have to heat the chocolate a little first with a little water and stirring constantly. Then pour it in the fondue pot to serve, and stir constantly as chocolate burns easily. I love dark chocolate but milk chocolate is also good.
I hear Giradelli is very good. I don't have a fondue pot, so I just melt it in a glass bowl over hot waterHow do you use a fondue pot and what chocolate is best and were can i get chocolate.?
any bakery supply store can lead you to the best place to buy in your area. the store can also give you 'favorites'.
It seems that you do not have an electric fondue pot which means you must watch your food and eat quick since you can not control the heat intake. You can find chocolate many supermarkets or chocolate speciality store. When melting the chocolate do not use water. Whipping cream is better; itll keep the chocolate thin and creamy. Pour in the chips over the heat and stir quickly as they melt. Add the cream by teaspoons to best results. You can remove it from the heat mid-way through the meal to prevent the chocolate from burning.

Have fun...butterscotch and carmel chip work well also!!
You're best bet is Baker's chocolate - it's "made for" melting. You can get it in just about any US Supermarket in the baking aisle. Just put the chocolate in, then light the "gel thingy", stir a bit and it will be ready shortly.
Go to Gourmetslueth.com for alot of great fondue recipes. I looked on a couple and regular chocolate chips with a small amount of milk added should work.
GODIVA! I LUV GODIVA! Go there to get chocolate.
Never never add water to chocolate as it causes it to "seize" or become solid (or grainy and unable to melt fully). When I fix Chocolate fondue I start with a good quality chocoate bittersweet (ghirridelli) mix with a little unsalted butter and thin with CREAM or half and half. You do not need the gel or sterno as this burns to hot and will scorce the chocolate. Use a candle. I start my chocolate on a double boiler using the serving pot as the top half. As mentioned before what ever you do do not add water or allow water to come in contact with the chocolate. After it has melted and is of dipping consistancy use your base that your pot came with but use a candle. You can add cream as needed. Good luck!!
put the chocolate in pot heat walaaa u can get chocolate semisweet chips at the store
